Extra Services:
We already have GPs with specialist skills and we plan to take on more specialist staff as part of our team so we can offer more out-patient services. The PCT has used information obtained from patient surveys which shows that patients are keen to have health and social care closer to home. We plan to expand the services available locally for example: counselling, mental health services, complementary therapies, podiatrists, dieticians, follow-up services for hospital after care, services for young adults, minor-surgery, joint injections, contraceptive implants, addiction services etc.
Teaching and Learning:
We have links with local Colleges and Universities. We will provide nurse training, medical training, and placement opportunities in a range of health jobs. We want our new larger organisation to be a good local employer providing new career opportunities and training. |

Social Enterprise:
As well as the health services already mentioned, we know that a big part of your health is affected by things that are outside of medical care alone. As well as looking after you when you are ill, we want to be an enterprise organisation. This means that we will begin to provide a wide range of new things to improve health in our communities. This could be anything that has a good impact on local health. We will work with other organisations in any projects where there is an opportunity to make an impact on health. This might include involvement in education, housing, safety, food, exercise & social support projects. We will work with you and your community to find the best ways of doing this. |
