Alison lives in Liverpool but once lived in Salford and has never stayed away for very long. Alison works as Managing Director of Hope Street Centre for Health & Social care Development (www.hopestreetcentre.com). She has worked as a contractor for many Health organisations including Salford PCT, and has many years NHS management experience. Helen is the Director of Community Safety, Culture and Sport for Trafford Council, managing a wide range of services including an Arts centre and CCTV network. She is also the lead for the Council on Trafford's Drug and Alcohol action team. She was one of the founder Directors of SHM and brought experience of delivering services in partnership with Health to the Board. Helen's background is in the Probation and Youth Offending Services. She is passionate about reducing inequalities and the difficulties these can create for individuals, families and communities. She believes that this can best be done by organisations working together and is delighted to see the involvement of SHM in Salford's Neighbourhood development work.
Samantha works as a Senior Lecturer in Social Work at The University of Salford and trains post graduate social work students. In her own words: “I joined SHM as I wanted to give my time, energy and hopefully skills and experience to work with local people who experience difficulties in their lives. As a lecturer I would like the University as a local provider to become more involved in the local community to help improve the health and well being of local people.” Samantha’s professional background is in mental health, where she has worked as a practitioner and manager and she is particularly interested in helping SHM integrate and provide health and social care services to improve people's well being.
